Maintenance to your engine's requirements.

Oil Change in Crosby, TX

Oil and filter service done to what your engine calls for, with the scope confirmed before the work starts.

An oil change should follow your engine's requirements, not a rule of thumb. The viscosity, the approvals the oil must meet and the service interval are set by the manufacturer, and they differ from one vehicle to the next.

Before we start, we confirm the oil specification, the filter and what the service includes, so the estimate says what is actually being done. If you have service records or an oil-life monitor message, bring them along.

Oil changes are part of the routine maintenance we handle at our shop on FM 2100 in Crosby. If something else turns up while we're looking, we tell you what we found and you decide what happens next.

Our approach

How we handle oil change

This is our general approach. Every vehicle is different, and recommendations follow an inspection. See the Service Disclaimer.

  1. 1

    Start from your requirements

We work from the oil specification your vehicle calls for, not a one-size-fits-all choice.

  2. 2

    Confirm the scope

The oil, the filter and what the service includes are confirmed before the work begins.

  3. 3

    Do the service

The oil and filter are changed to that specification.

  4. 4

    Tell you what we notice

If we see something worth your attention, such as a leak, we tell you, and nothing gets added without your approval.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Which oil does my vehicle need?

Your owner's manual lists the viscosity and approvals your engine requires. We service to that specification, and you can ask us to confirm it on the estimate.

How often should I change my oil?

There isn't one interval for every vehicle. The manufacturer's schedule and your driving conditions apply, and many vehicles have an oil-life monitor. Bring your service records and we'll go by what your vehicle specifies.

Does an oil-pressure warning mean I need an oil change?

Not necessarily. An oil-pressure warning is different from a service reminder. Stop safely, switch off the engine and follow your owner's manual before driving further.

My vehicle needs oil added between changes. Will an oil change fix that?

Don't assume so. Tell us how often you're adding oil and we can look into consumption or a possible leak rather than treating it as a routine service.
