Who this covers
This policy explains how Complete Automotive Repair (“we,” “us”), located at 14001 FM 2100, Crosby, TX 77532, handles information collected through this website.
It covers the website only. Information you give us by phone or in person when arranging or receiving service is handled as part of our ordinary shop records and is not described here.
Information we collect
Information you give us. There are two forms on this site: the booking form and the request form on the contact page. They ask for:
- your name and phone number (required, so we can reach you);
- your email address (optional);
- your vehicle's year, make and model, and the service you need;
- a preferred date and time, and any details you choose to add.
Please do not put payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information in the details box. We do not need them to respond to a request.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, the server that hosts this site may keep ordinary technical logs, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. Those logs are kept by the hosting provider.
What this site does not do. It has no customer accounts and takes no payments. It uses the Meta Pixel for advertising measurement, Microsoft Clarity for heatmaps and session recordings, Google Analytics for visit and click counts, and Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights for cookieless page views and page-speed measurements. It sets one attribution cookie of its own. All of this is described below and in Cookies & Third-Party Content.
Anonymous visit statistics
To understand how the website is used and to improve it, we run our own simple analytics. They are built to be anonymous:
- What we record: which pages are viewed, what is clicked and roughly where on the page, how far down a page people scroll, whether the device is a phone, tablet or computer, which site sent the visitor, and, on the booking form, which step or field was reached.
- Which ad or search brought you: the type of source (Facebook, Google ads, Google search, direct or other) and the campaign tags in the link you arrived by. See “Advertising measurement” below.
- What we never record: your IP address, your browser's identity string, any persistent visitor ID, anything you type into a form, advertising click IDs, or the phone number or email inside a call or email link.
- How visitors are counted: a code that is scrambled with a secret key and changes every day, so a day's visitors can be counted without being able to recognise anyone from one day to the next.
Nothing is sent if your browser sends the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, or if you switch it off on the cookies page. Our own statistics are used only by us, are not sold or shared, and are not used to build a profile of you. Statistics are kept for a limited time and then deleted.
Advertising measurement
We advertise on Facebook and Google, and we measure which ads lead to appointments:
- What is collected: the campaign information in the link you arrived by (source, medium, campaign, content and term tags), the type of source (Facebook, Google ads, Google search, direct or other), and whether you clicked a booking link or completed a booking. This is kept in our own statistics and in a first-party cookie, car_attr, that lasts 90 days. Meta Platforms receives page views, clicks on booking links, completed bookings and the channel name, along with the technical information its pixel normally collects, such as your IP address and browser details.
- What is not collected: advertising click IDs, and your name, phone number, email, vehicle or booking details. We do not send those to Meta.
- How we use it: to see which advertising leads to appointments. We do not sell it. Meta handles its data under Meta's privacy policy.
- How to opt out: use the switch on the cookies page, send the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, or delete the cookie in your browser. Opting out does not affect your ability to book.
Heatmaps and session recordings
To see where visitors get stuck, we use Microsoft Clarity, a service from Microsoft that produces heatmaps and recordings of how pages are used:
- What is collected: clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movement, the pages visited, and device and browser details. Microsoft may also receive your IP address and set its own cookies.
- What is masked: Clarity masks sensitive content by default, including what you type into form fields, so those values do not appear in recordings.
- Where it runs: on our live website only, never on the staff pages.
- How we use it: to find and fix confusing pages. We do not sell it. Microsoft handles its data under Microsoft's privacy statement.
- How to opt out: Clarity follows the same signals as our other analytics. Use the switch on the cookies page, or send the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, and it does not load. Opting out does not affect your ability to book.
Google Analytics and Vercel analytics
Two more tools help us see how the website is used and how fast it loads:
- Google Analytics: counts page views and clicks on booking links, phone numbers and directions links, and completed bookings (with the channel name only). Google sets its own cookies and may receive your IP address and browser details. We do not send Google your name, phone number, email, vehicle or booking details. Google handles its data under Google's privacy policy.
- Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights: Vercel hosts this website. Its Web Analytics counts page views without cookies, and Speed Insights measures how quickly pages load for real visitors. Vercel handles its data under Vercel's privacy policy.
- Where they run: on our live website only, never on the staff pages. We use them only to improve the website and measure our advertising. We do not sell the data.
- How to opt out: both follow the same signals as our other analytics. Use the switch on the cookies page, or send the Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, and neither loads. Opting out does not affect your ability to book.
How we use it
We use the details in an appointment request to respond to it: to call or email you, to discuss your vehicle, and to arrange a time. We do not use them to send marketing messages, and the form does not sign you up for any.
When you book, we may compare your phone number and name with the shop's existing customer records so your request is attached to the right customer instead of creating a duplicate. Whether a match was found is never shown on this website.
Submitting a request is not a confirmed appointment and is not authorization for any repair. See the Service Disclaimer.
Other companies’ sites and content
Some features open, or load content from, other companies. Their privacy practices are theirs, not ours:
- ShopGenie — the online booking system every “Book an Appointment” button opens. It is run by a third party, and what you enter there goes to that system.
- Meta Platforms (Facebook) — the advertising measurement pixel described under “Advertising measurement” above.
- Microsoft — the Clarity heatmap and session recording service described under “Heatmaps and session recordings” above.
- Google and Vercel — the Google Analytics and Vercel analytics tools described under “Google Analytics and Vercel analytics” above.
- Synchrony and Snap Finance — the financing applications linked from the financing page. Anything you enter goes to the lender, not to us.
- Google Maps — the map on some pages loads only after you choose “Load map.” Loading it connects your browser to Google.
- Facebook — our server copies our own recent Facebook posts onto this site, which sends Facebook nothing about you. If a “Load posts” button appears instead, pressing it connects your browser to Facebook. See Cookies & Third-Party Content.
- Facebook and Google — links to our page and reviews, which take you off this site.
How long we keep it
We keep an appointment request for as long as it is reasonably needed to respond to you and handle any resulting service, and as long as the law or our ordinary business records require. The contact details stored by our booking service are erased after a limited period; the customer and appointment records in the shop's own software follow the shop's ordinary business records. Ask us to delete a request sooner using the contact details below.
Visit statistics are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
Your choices and rights
You can contact us by phone instead of using the form, and you can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it.
Texas residents may have additional rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, such as to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of personal data, and to opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising and certain profiling. Whether that law applies to a particular business depends on its size and activities. We will honor a request to the extent the law requires, and if we decline we will tell you why and how to appeal, where the law provides for that.
To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to confirm who you are before acting on it.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect information submitted through this website, including validating what the form accepts and serving the site over encrypted connections. No website or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
This website is for adults arranging vehicle service. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If our practices or this website change, we will update this page and the date at the top. If we add analytics, advertising or similar tools, we will update this policy and the cookies page before doing so.
